Nutrition

Good nutrition builds our health, helps our bodies fight disease, and allows our bodies to recuperate faster should we become ill.

Exercise

The list of benefits of regular exercise is long and keeps getting longer! Without movement and regular intentional exercise, our bodies lose their strength and energy. Exercise not only positively impacts our bodies but our minds as well!

Water

Most diseases can be reduced, prevented, or improved by increasing water intake! Water aids in the removal of toxins from our bodies thus facilitating optimal health. Optimal water intake aids in maintaining good blood pressure and a healthy weight while fighting gallbladder disease, constipation, urinary tract infections, and more! According to the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, a good rule of thumb is for men to drink about 3.7 liters of water a day and for women to drink about 2.7 liters of water each day.

Sunlight

The sun is the established source of energy created by God to maintain the cycle of life for humans, plants, and animals. Studies suggest that benefits of sunlight include, but aren’t limited to, an increase in Vitamin D, greater warmth, lowered blood pressure, greater hormonal balance, reduced osteoporosis, a balanced metabolism, and an overall sense of wellbeing.

Self-Control

Studies have suggested that people who practice self-control are happier in both the short and long term. People who are happy are generally healthier and have less stress and anxiety. A good rule of thumb is to take everything in moderation to live a positive, God-focused life.

Fresh Air

No one can live without air, but fresh, clean air is of the upmost importance for optimal health! Both polluted air and stale air contribute to many illnesses that could be prevented if fresh, clean air is breathed every day!

Rest

Sleep is vital to rejuvenation! Sleep enables the body to renew and reset itself. The brain is particularly affected by sleep or the lack thereof since it is during sleep that it is actively processing memories, information, feelings, and more! The amount and quality of sleep is important for good health and the best sleep is often after physical exercise or labor.

Trust in Divine Power

Some evidence suggests that those who believe in God and trust Him are better able to cope with life and its stressors and challenges. Trust in God may be linked to the body’s health and well-being. The health of our brains is particularly affected when God is sought, reducing anxiety, depression, and neurological stressors.

Social Support

Our immune systems and mental outlook are better and stronger when we are involved in social communities! Social communities can come in the form of family ties, religious affiliations, or friendship networks. A healthy sense of community can improve our health!
